About the location
Aberfeldy, Scotland’s healthiest town, couldn’t be more inspiring. The retreat is based at one of the town’s finest guest houses, with a friendly and comfortable vibe - a home-from-home. Aberfeldy is minutes from Loch Tay and is an easy drive from central Scotland with its major airports or a short taxi from Pitlochry station.
How the retreat works
The retreat is hosted by Amanda and a hand-picked team of experts. Designed to help reset both body and mind, the nutrition programme is based on intermittent fasting and tailored low-carb nutrition menus that are as delicious as they are nutritious! You'll also get the chance to have a detox day with a spa visit included during your retreat.
After your detox day, you will be intermittent fasting (I.F) using the 16/8 fasting method - in essence, skipping breakfast and participating in activities such as yoga, pilates, HIIT or hiking before lunch. The fast duration will be from 14-16 hrs, depending on the day's schedule, but you will always be able to ask for a snack if needed. Weight loss is a predictable side effect, but we can modify menus if you don't want to lose weight. Tea and coffee are available during the fasting window.
The food throughout the retreat is a real highlight, with vegan and vegetarian options always available.
Amanda and yoga teacher Tina are the hosts for the event, with additional guest experts on mindset, food and fitness.
Guests are asked to arrive on the afternoon of the first day. Guidance can be given on travel options. The first day's schedule includes a welcome smoothie, a seminar with Amanda, a yoga class, and a fabulous welcome dinner.
The following morning we kick off with your detox day - soups, smoothies, juices and superfood snacks coupled with a visit to the famous Hot Box Spa on Loch Tay. Yoga, Pilates and a gorgeous woodland walk are the activities that accompany your seminars. We end the detox day with a wind-down meditation and Sound Bath.
For the remaining days of the retreat, we enjoy active mornings before a tasty brunch. Afternoons are planned around workshops in nutrition, mindset and fun activities - all of which are included. Highlights include a foraging tour with a local foodie expect, where you'll get to sample some handmade chocolates that have been infused with flavours of local herbs, plants and flowers.
Regardless of your current exercise regime, you will leave feeling significantly fitter, healthier and happier. There’s also time to soothe muscles and de-stress the mind with optional massage or reiki treatments that can be arranged.
With a final focus on goal setting, motivation and ongoing aftercare, this retreat is an ideal kick-start to inspire longer-term results.
