Iron deficiency anaemia can result in low mood and lethargy. Make sure you are not at risk by including iron-rich foods in your diet. Venison has a significantly higher amount of iron per 100g when compared with other types of meat and is naturally lower in fat than other red meat.

Venison Burgers (Serves 4)

Ingredients

  • 500g venison mince
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Bunch of parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 garlic clove crushed
  • Pinch salt and pepper
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil


Method
Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix well together. Shape them into 4 burgers - pack them together well to avoid them breaking apart. In a frying pan, add some olive oil and fry the burger on each side for about 5 minutes until cooked through. Serve with wholemeal buns or rye bread and a side salad.
