I decided to put my money where my mouth is after my son’s post-swimming class meltdown at a vending machine.
I got the call from Healthy Nibbles, a healthy vending provider, the day after the after the ‘incident’ and felt it was time to really get behind a company looking to shake up a stale and outdated industry. Sure, if I was a perfect mother I’d have had a BPA free snack box filled with freshly chopped carrots, apple and hummus - by sometimes reality bites.
There’s nothing more frustrating for individuals looking to stick to healthy intentions, or parents looking to support the nutritional needs of children, than being presented with ubiquitous confectionary, crisps and sugary drinks from an in your face branded machine rather than healthier options when you need it most.
Healthy Nibbles was established to provide more opportunity for people to make healthy choices in their diet, and make those choice more accessible. When we launched mid 2015 it was an uphill battle to get support from financial institutions but not that we’ve proven that the demand is out there, there’s no stopping us.
Case in point we’ve recently won Best Newcomer at the national vending industry awards. Anyone who says healthy food is niche is full of nonsense. Times are changing and according ing to Deloitte’s 2020 report healthy snacking will soon become mainstream.
The point is, healthy vending is a no-brainer. Healthy Nibbles have even updated the rather crap digging around for loose change scenario.
Each of its machines features a cool user interface, embedded with a sophisticated shopping cart which allows for multiple purchases within the same transaction, and the ability to use cashless payment options such as credit and debit cards, mobile payments, prepaid employee cards and ApplePay.
These smart, eco-friendly vending machines only sell 100% healthy snacks and drinks. In my role as investor and nutrition director I now ensure that each and every product stocked is genuine about its claims, with many products suitable for a wide variety of dietary needs; Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Nut Free, Dairy Free, Vegan and Paleo.
We’ve now installed machines at many forwarding thinking companies and organisations, including the BBC.
